Conor started drumming at the age of 5 with tuition from his father, Patrick, and then Tommy Merrigan.
His early drumming career was in his local area, his father being an ex-member of the central band of the RAF who had setup a marching band.
He was around 15 years when he heard the 1987 World 's on tape and was amazed at the style and calibre of the drumming, especially the 78th Fraser Highlanders and their Up To The Line medley - he was hooked.
He first joined the Fintan Lalor in Dublin and spent a year learning his trade under Frank Saunders Snr.
After that, he joined St. Joseph's, Clondalkin in 1991 and was then part of the amalgamation with the O'Toole's in 1998.....and he's been there ever since.
The most memorable moments of his band career would be winning the World's Drumming in 2006 and the overall World Championship win in 2010.
His influences over the years have been his father, Patrick, Bobby Rae, Reid Maxwell and Stephen Creighton ( “I don’t know how he has put up with me for so long” )
